"Spacious, yet cozy and relaxing, appointed beautifully with antiques, charming accents, fine linens and all in a lush river setting!" The River House is owned by a pioneer Texas ranching family whose passion is historic preservation. The owners have restored three historic Texas properties; an 1880's train depot, the family ranch house built in 1858 and a pioneer Castroville home, known as the Arcadius Steinle House, built in 1847. The Steinle House is available for private tours to guests of the River House if the owners are in Castroville.
